SafeUsually 1 – 5 GBUpdated October 2, 2026By the Tidy Mac team

Short answer

Playwright downloads full copies of Chromium, Firefox and WebKit for testing, one set per Playwright version. Old versions pile up. They’re safe to remove; Playwright installs the browsers it needs again.

**Location:** `~/Library/Caches/ms-playwright`

## What’s inside

- Chromium, Firefox and WebKit builds
- One folder per browser version

**Our verdict: Safe.** Your Mac or your apps recreate this automatically. Removing it won’t lose anything you made.

## The Playwright way

```
npx playwright uninstall --all
```

Then `npx playwright install` in a project that needs them.
