Short answer

The .pub-cache folder holds every Dart and Flutter package your projects have fetched, plus globally activated Dart tools. It’s safe to clean; flutter pub get downloads packages again.

**Location:** `~/.pub-cache`

## What’s inside

-   Hosted packages from pub.dev
-   Git dependencies
-   Globally activated tools (bin)

**Our verdict: Safe.** Your Mac or your apps recreate this automatically. Removing it won’t lose anything you made.

## The Dart way

```
dart pub cache clean
```

Then run `flutter pub get` in each project.
