TidyMac for AI agents: a local MCP server for your Mac’s storage

TidyMac includes a local MCP server so Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop and Cursor can read your storage. Read-only by default; cleaning always needs your approval.

In short

Run TidyMac’s built-in MCP server and any MCP client can call tools like get_storage_overview, what_grew and list_large_files with real numbers from your Mac. It’s read-only by default. If you allow cleanup requests, the agent can only ask; you approve in TidyMac, and files go to the Trash.

Sound familiar?

  • Agents guessing at disk usage
  • Agents running rm -rf
  • No way to ask “what grew this week?”
