Why does the .dmg show a warning?

TidyMac is sold directly by us, not through the Mac App Store, so a downloaded .dmg makes macOS ask you to confirm the first launch (“Apple could not verify…”). Click Done, then System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway. It’s a one-time step, and the Terminal install skips it entirely. TidyMac only measures your storage on this Mac; nothing about your files leaves it, and anything it cleans goes to the Trash first.

Full Disk Access

To measure protected folders (Mail, Messages, some caches), TidyMac asks for Full Disk Access in System Settings › Privacy & Security. It reads sizes only, never file contents. After an update, macOS sometimes resets this permission; TidyMac will tell you if it needs it again.

Activate your licence
